![]() A cartridge baseball game thats worth your money. No way! It so inconceivable, its probably true. Acclaim out did themselves with this installment of All Star Baseball. Not only is it one of the greatest games ever created for the N64, but its one of the funnest, easiest and best looking game for the N64, and its a baseball game, Yeah!
Graphics
The grahics for All Star Baseball, could quite possibly be mistaken for a average next gen console game for the Gamecube. With a little sketching going on fo the crowd, and the fielders slides and dives being limited to one graphic sliding across towards the ball, there is nothing wrong with this game in this department.
Sound
Once again for a cartridge game, not to shabby. Any way this is a sports game its not supposed to have a movie esque soundtrack. All it needs is those few beats during the menu screen and then the sounds of bats cracking, announcers talking smack, and fans cheering over takes the soundtrack. If you get bored with that, just turn on your stereo, and hit home runs to some Sum 41.
Controls
I am so glad that acclaim made this game. The batting controls are really easy to learn after an hour of gameplay, and pitching has never been easier. Having problems hitting the ball or pitching? Just go to game options and turn the pitching aid to on, and bam you'll be striking people out, and hitting home runs just like the pros.
Multiplayer
This is a sports game. So essentially it needs to played with a friend or two, every so often. Whether it be competitive or cooperative this multiplayer delivers just as well as an EA Sports title.
Rating System (scale of 1-5):
Graphics: 5 (Impressive, Unheard of for a cartridge.)
Sound: 4 (Its a sport game, give it a break.)
Controls: 5 (Easier than learning how shave)
Multiplayer: 5 (Its going going, its so fun its gone. Must be played with friends)
Total Rating Points Earned: 19/20 (Classic Game of the Year Candidate)
